Welcome to the Online Training Center. Instruction delivered this way is a new concept in the Painting Industry and we are excited to be partnering with your company for another “industry first”. Q: Does registration close the day the class starts?
A: Registration closes when the class is full. Registrations are on ‘first come, first served’ basis. If registration is still open after the start of a class, you are able to still join and begin learning and excelling at your pace and convenience. We will announce the close of registration for each class.
Q: What if I can’t start on the first day or week of the class, should I still sign up?
A: Yes. The class will be open for 8 weeks and you can work through each lesson at your own pace and timeframe, with full support from your trainer inside the site.
Q: How much time will I need for each lesson?
A: The Online Training Center is set up so that there are no scheduled events that you must attend (live feeds, webinars, calls, etc), everything is archived so that you can access whenever you want and progress at your own pace within the 8 week timeline of the class. You will have contact ability daily with the course instructor, our spray pro Todd Pudvar. We estimate that the course should take a painter between 15-30 hours to complete. This range will vary based on experience level and how much time the trainee needs to practice the hands on skills being learned.
Q: What preparation will I need to do before class?
A: We’ll provide you with several handouts and forms in the lessons for you to use in your spray program, you should print these out and put them in a folder. You will want to post some of the checklists in your shop spray area and share other resources with your spray staff. You’ll also need to provide time and space for your trainee to complete the lessons.
Q: What equipment will I need?
A: You will need a device (laptop, ipad, notebook, phone, etc) and wifi to access the site. And a spray rig with shop space to practice in.
Q: Do I need to do lessons in shop?
A: That is the best place to do the sprayer based components. There are other aspects of the lessons that can be studied and worked on most anywhere.
Q: Do we get to keep video?
A: No. Once you have completed each lesson, you will have learned and mastered the content demonstrated in the videos. You will be able to go back and review all of the videos during the 8 weeks of the course. The desired outcome is that students will retain what they have learned and be empowered to share the knowledge and skills of your new spray program with other employees.
Q: How do we access the class?
On Monday at 12:01 am eastern time, the spray class became “live”. You will have received an email with login instructions. From there, you can access anytime you want. There are 3 lessons, and your trainee(s) must complete one lesson correctly before you can proceed to the next. Take the time to discuss everything that is happening in each lesson, so that you know your trainee is grasping the concepts – that will reinforce the accountability we are creating. There will be hands on assignments that can be done as a group as well. Be sure to encourage and support your trainee(s) in focusing on the active hands on aspects of the lessons.
Q: What if I get an employee trained and they end up leaving my company?
The goal is that you implement a spray program during this 8 weeks that is understood and practiced across the company going forward. If you take some time to supervise and reinforce accountability in your team, it will be that much more of a success. That way, even if a key employee should leave, the program is still in place going forward. You always have someone trained to pick up the ball, so to speak. Think of it as more of a program for your company than a class where employees gain skills and knowledge that you might end up losing. A clear spray program in your company makes it easier to acclimate and train new employees that you hire in the future.
